The impact upon the environment varies from mine to mine and the type of mining used. The top mines produce around 1ct of Gem grade diamonds per 30 tons of rock excavated. That is a lot of rock to shift in order to fine one sparkly diamond. We focus on reclaiming and recycling diamonds from old, unwanted, diamond jewellery purchased in the UK second hand market. Diamonds are the hardest substance known to man and have taken Millions of years to form underground so they are going to last many more years set in a ring, pendant or earrings. We expertly examine every diamond we set in order to ensure they are of perfect quality and fit to be set in a piece of jewellery. Any Diamonds that do not make the grade are not discarded but are sold on to be used for industrial purposes or recut into smaller stones. All of our diamonds are conflict free. We don’t know where they were originally mined from but we do know that they are all sourced from within the UK. No Diamond retailer can be 100% sure where a diamond comes from. All out items are manufactured in the UK so we can oversee the production and change or improve anything if necessary. Every Diamond reclaimed by us that we sell comes complete with a certificate stating the specifications of the diamond and the amount of earth that has been saved from being mined. The diamond in this particular ring weighs 0.25ct is K colour and S12 clarity. It measures 4.15mm wide. The ring is available in a size K but we can resize if required at an additional cost.
